About us

What do you believe?

We believe the historical doctrines of the first century Christian Church. We believe what the early church believed. We worship in small groups (usually in homes) like the early church did. We meet together to worship the Lord with fellowship, food, laughter, prayer, study and encourage one another in our walk with Christ; all in a warm family environment.

What denomination are you?

The apostle Paul taught against dividing-up the church into groups (in the beginning of his first letter to the Corinthians). We have no denominational ties—but we have friends and partners in many denominations since we reach many who would never seek-out a traditional church.

Do you have one Pastor or many for all those house churches?

The early Christian church was famous for being the only religion with no clergy and no temples. The concept of clergy did not enter Christianity until after 300 A.D. Since we’re returning to the ways of the early church, our teachers are those who have studied to show themselves approved (often at well-known seminaries and colleges), and have the gift of teaching. We are led, however, by our Elders. We don’t differentiate between clergy & laity (1 Peter 2:9).

Are you fundamentalist, pentecostal, liberal…what?

We do stress the fundamentals of the faith, but we are not “fundamentalist” (hyper-dispensational) as the term is commonly used today. We do use the gifts the Spirit has given us, but are not “hyper-pentecostal” (with evidence of speaking in tongues), that is, we to don’t hold beliefs that contradict 1 Corinthians 12:27-31. We are careful not to take any extreme positions and interpret scripture much as the very first converts, the early Jewish Christians did. See our Statement of Faith.
